easter !!
My Easter holidays
This Easter we decided to stay in Cyprus. The week before the school closed we didn’t do anything exciting. Easter holidays are celebrated in many different ways all over the world but in Cyprus celebrated with our traditions.
So on Friday we decided to go to the church with some friend to kowtow a Epitaphios (Christian tradition) and the next day at the midnight we gathered to church to light the holy light and the tradition of Lamprakia(many Cypriot boys gather wood near the church for the fire and when it is midnight at 12:30 a.m. they light the wood).
On Sunday we went with my family to Agia Marina of Xyliatou which is a v
illage of the Troodos mountain range. I and my brother stayed there for about three days.
Every year, this period, the village organize traditional events, traditional dance and traditional games. In the same day at night there was football games between the village Xiliatou and Agia Marina which we watched the football and after this we had village fireworks. On Monday the adjacent village organized volleyball games from 9 ages to 67
ages. It was really amazing because that we discovered the village people are so better people than the people who live in towns. On Wednesday night we went back to the village where we had good fun, enjoyment, and the whole experience!
